HISTORY & ACHIEVEMENTS
FROM 1979 TILL DATE
It was a long cherished dream of Sant Nischal Singh Ji to establish a Public School of repute in Yamuna Nagar, which would provide quality education to the children of this area. After he left for his heavenly abode in 1978, Sant Nischal Singh Memorial Trust was set up and the Governing Body was constituted under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Waryam Singh Ji, as chairman who gave a concrete shape to Sant Ji’s dream project on July 10, 1979. Thus Sant Nischal Singh Public School was established to perpetuate the memory of Late Sant Pandit Nischal Singh Ji Maharaj. The school is an epitome of service to humanity, a portal of learning with a difference.
Having more than 2000 students on rolls, now the school has been scoring new heights. Affiliated to CBSE in 1984, the first batch of our school appeared for Secondary School Exams in 1986. Result was 100%. Till date twenty two batches have appeared at Secondary School Exams.
On the consistent demand of parents our school was raised to the Senior Secondary Level in 1991. We offer Medical, Non-Medical, Commerce and Humanities Streams. It was the first school in the district to provide these facilities. The first batch of +2 appeared in 1993.
Our school is spread over 17.5 Acres with 1,27,900 sq.ft. built up area. The buildings include a double storeyed circular building having Junior wing and a triple storeyed rectangular building having Senior wing.
The school is well equipped with Hi-tech Science, Maths, Computer and Communication Laboratories. A new block has been added to the Senior wing with a multi-purpose activity hall, Dance & Music rooms and a new canteen.
Another branch of SNSPS was set up at Ladwa in 1994 and is running successfully.
To make our budding citizens computer savvy, Computer education was started in 1986. Our school can boast of having two computer Labs with latest technology. Besides this, LAN environment of computers has been set up in 1999. Separate Computer Resource Room for teachers has also been created. A mini auditorium for Audio Visual Learning was set up in 1988. We have also started the e-classrooms from 2008.
To nurture and educate the tiny tots, Kinder Garten was started in the year 1986 which has now risen to a latest designed pre-school, a home away from home that provides conducive environment for growth and development of the little ones. It is equipped with latest designed child friendly educational toys.
Pre-school follows playway methods of teaching and activity oriented teaching. Hygienic food is served to the tiny tots with an aim to teach them table manners. Door to door conveyance facility is provided to the students of pre-school.
Knowing the value of the time proven dictum, ‘A sound mind exists in a sound body’ the school with its spacious campus provides play fields for all the major games. The school boasts of Skating rink and Indoor Badminton Courts which were established in 1999. A world class aesthetically designed Semi Olympic Size Swimming Pool with imported water filters and viewing gallery, two separate Kidney shaped splash pools for Pre-School children have been set up in 2003. The school started the Riding School and a Squash court in the year 2004. In 2002, the school initiated with the Cricket Academy to identify and nurture the young cricketers of Yamuna Nagar & is successfully producing cricketers for the State team.
For the physical fitness of our students, our school established a Gym and a Yoga Hall. It also has Basket Ball, Volley Ball, Throw Ball and Hand Ball courts.
To conduct regular health check up and for providing regular health care, the school has a full time doctor on the school campus.
For the better exposure of the students to the world, our school has been affiliated to Cambridge University, London, to start YLE and KET classes in 2005 which has further been upgraded to PET and FCE levels.
It is a matter of great pride that our school has become the sub centre for the region for all British Council ESOL examinations.
Our school has been registered with Global Gateway and has successfully managed to establish link with schools in U.K. This partnership will enable our teachers and students to visit our partner schools in other countries thereby enhancing their exposure to International culture.
